31 Days To Go!!!

We had a lovely Christmas with Jim's family--that is, until we broke the news to them of our trip!
Definitely what we are embarking on is not everyone's cup of tea, but those who know us really shouldn't be too surprised and have some faith in our judgment. Hopefully they'll get over it
in the next 30 days as we were planning to leave our car with them for the next year and there really isn't a 'Plan B' for that!

Anyway now that Christmas is over, we can well and truly get on with the details of PACKING UP!  On that front, most of the wardrobes are near empty now.  The kitchen will be tackled next, with non-essentials being boxed up.  Jim's finishing up with the house maintenance jobs, including painting the eaves, facia and external windows.  Happily, the 'To Do' list is slowly getting ticked off: dentist appointments, change of addresses, finalizing leave arrangements with work, cancellation of gym and union memberships--all DONE!  But unfortunately a 'Things-To-Do List for the last 2 days' is quickly growing as some of our service providers won't accept our requests for cancellation of services until the actual day to be canceled--so frustrating!

We're starting to feel the panic that in 31 days, we'll be out of here--we know it'll go quickly!  We were watching the movie 'Eat, Pray, Love' the other night and its very surreal to me that soon we'll be in some of those places! Now hopefully the house will be rented soon!!!

  1. I feel your excitement! Can't wait to hear about your adventures! We are preparing for our own family travel adventure hopefully this spring (departure depends on the sale of our house)

  2. I'm glad that our 'excitement' has come through our post, as definitely on one hand we are, but on another, I am gravitating between self doubt and anxiety!

we've got the house up for rent at the moment--a bit quieter and slower on that front than we'd like, but i think time of year has a lot to do with it. hopefully things will pick up soon!
