We're a family of four (children aged 8 and 5) and are leaving in a few weeks for our 8 months worldtrip. It's comforting to know that more people are as "crazy" as we are. And that it has been such a wonderfull experience for all of you! I can only hope this will be the same for us. Thank you very much again!!Sharonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487999432961323989.post-75933231729189286922012-06-15T04:33:43.568-07:002012-06-15T04:33:43.568-07:00Thanks for your replay. Thanks for your replay.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06195088555615759725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487999432961323989.post-20733333137422077662012-06-15T01:00:01.979-07:002012-06-15T01:00:01.979-07:00Thanks Michele--that's encouraging to hear tha...Thanks Michele--that's encouraging to hear that your 4yr old still has memories. My earliest memories go back to that age too, so i hope that our kids will remember some of it too when they're older. at the moment, like you said, it's interesting to hear what they DO remember, of which my disasterous birthday on the road was apparently a memorable one for them. With 2 Kids In Towhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17698525647389998509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487999432961323989.post-12075597872141801622012-06-14T15:28:49.452-07:002012-06-14T15:28:49.452-07:00We've been traveling with kids for a decade. Now that my middle child is 9 years old, I'm surprised by how much he remembers from our trips when he was only 4. It's always interesting to find out what was a standout event for a child. My older boy has been able to bring up past travels during school lessons -- like our trip to Mesa Verde Colorado when his Social Studies class was discussing ancient civilizations. Yes, each stage has it's pros and cons, but the good has always outweighed the bad.Michele @ Malaysian Meandershttp://malaysianmeanders.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487999432961323989.post-44090065509144550342012-06-12T03:53:30.731-07:002012-06-12T03:53:30.731-07:00Thank you for your feedback--I appreciate it and a...Thank you for your feedback--I appreciate it and am glad that you think it's helpful :)With 2 Kids In Towhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17698525647389998509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487999432961323989.post-72852249765002505722012-05-24T00:59:27.714-07:002012-05-24T00:59:27.714-07:00Well said. Unfortunately, not all schools and teachers are the same, but we've been lucky to find one we think which will give our children an enriching and well rounded experience. Travel is definitely a luxury which benefits all who can be lucky enough to experience it. But ideally travel and education are not mutually exclusive and will complement each other.

We'd love to travel with the girls again when they are older. We don't usually aim to go back to the same places but you never know! For now, we will travel and re-visit through our pictures!

Thanks for visiting us Lisa :)With 2 Kids In Towhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17698525647389998509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487999432961323989.post-35477668993629713922012-05-18T07:28:05.598-07:002012-05-18T07:28:05.598-07:00I think that Travel is far more educational then l...I think that Travel is far more educational then learning from school! Mind you, we met a family from northern europe who were holidaying in Thailand with their 9mo old and they really struggled with keeping her cool enough. At least the 4-6yr old set are on the verge of being able to be reasoned with! I suspect though the teenage years can be a struggle too though. As I've said, timing is everything! hope it gets easier for you soon! With 2 Kids In Towhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17698525647389998509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487999432961323989.post-91180797647618329222012-05-17T15:47:34.138-07:002012-05-17T15:47:34.138-07:00Travel with kids seems to bring its own joys and c...Travel with kids seems to bring its own joys and challenges at every stage of development - theirs and mine! Although I have to admit that travelling with babies was way easier than trying to 'manage' toddlers in strange places. I have such fond memories of touring with ours age 3-6, such an age of openness, growing capability and spirit of exploration - brilliant assets for travelling.Stuart (Family Adventure Project)https://www.blogger.com/profile/03269907336038854824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487999432961323989.post-83152403152300375902012-05-17T04:42:13.207-07:002012-05-17T04:42:13.207-07:00I'm glad it's not just me who has found tr...I'm glad it's not just me who has found travelling with a toddler much more challenging than travelling with a baby!
